Wedding bells ring for Amanda Peet

NEW YORK, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Actress Amanda Peet and screenwriter David Benioff have married at the actress' alma mater, Friends Seminary, in New York, People magazine reports. The wedding took place Saturday at the Quaker school, People said. It is the first marriage for both. The couple, engaged in July 200, is expecting their first child. Pete, 34, appeared in movies such as "Syriana," "The Whole Nine Yards," and "The Whole Ten Yards" and stars in the NBC drama "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." Benioff, 36, wrote screenplays for "25th Hour" and "Troy" and has four films due coming out in the next two years.

Couple spend RM3.5mil on wedding

But unlike the highly-publicised wedding between businessman Datuk Khalid Muhammad Jiwa or Datuk K and pop icon Siti Nurhaliza, the wedding of Datuk Roslan Hashim, 49, and his 24-year-old bride Puteri Shahanaz Hazlin Hamdan is taking place in the affluent area of Kampung Tok Sira here today with less fanfare. In terms of gifts and the reception, the wedding amounts to about RM3.5mil, surpassing that of Datuk K and Siti which had been dubbed the Wedding of the Year. Malacca-born businessman Roslan said his wedding gifts to his bride included RM444,444.44 in cash and a further RM22,222.22 in dowry.
